The Woodstock Writers Festival is March 19-22 and this year features Blondie co-founder Chris Stein's new book Chris Stein/Negative: Me, Blondie, and the Advent of Punk. The book marks the 40th Anniversary of Blondie who are punk and rock and roll royalty. Blondie was one of the original New York City punk bands playing CBGB's in the late 70's. Friday March 20th from 8:00-9:30 p.m. Chris will be presenting his photos and book at the Bearsville Theater with a cocktail pre-party at the new Commune Saloon also located on the Bearsville complex. The event will be moderated by Will Hermes who is the author of Love goes to Building On Fire: Five Years in New York that Change Music Forever. Chris's photos will be projected on a big screen while he and Will discuss the book and the amazing punk scene in late seventies NYC.
The Bearsville Theater is just a mile down the road from The White Dove Rockotel. So why not stay at Woodstock's coolest Rockotel and be close to all the Woodstock Writers Festival events. After a day of attending the festival come back to one of our suites and write the epic novel you have been working on or just cozy up with a new book. Our suites are great for both activities and offer everything you need to make your stay in Woodstock during the Writers Festival a weekend for the ages. You may even want to come back to The White Dove Rockotel to finish that book before next years festival.
